Memoir(ish) is a collection of stories and essays, all told in good faith and with minimal self-mythologizing. This is where I will be writing things down instead of moving to another city. Growth, but stationary. Groundbreaking.

This isn’t a proper memoir. Anyone under the age and experience level of Cher probably has no business writing one. That may be slightly exaggerated, but you see the point.

Instead, this is a life examined in real time. I’m exploring the dark corners and occasional silver linings of grief, memory, avoidance, and the moment reinvention stops working and you have to face what’s actually there.

No tidy arc. No guaranteed lesson. Just an honest attempt to see what remains when the stories we tell ourselves are looked at more closely.

If that sounds familiar, you’re warmly invited to follow along. Subscribe, join the conversation, and be part of a small community willing to sit with things for a minute.

If there’s something that been on your mind lately, a moment of joy or despair that’s been sticking with you, or anything you’d like to share with me, please send me a note.

Thank you for being here!

Memoir(ish) is a free series about memory, identity, and the things that make more sense in retrospect. I write about loss and what it reveals, the cost of being agreeable, and what it looks like to build a life that actually fits.
